SCROLL

About

The Erie County Department of Public Works is progressing the Marshfield Road Bridge Rehabilitation Project. This project will address structural deficiencies at the existing bridge over N. Branch Clear Creek and provide roadway improvements to the immediately surrounding area.

A structural steel liner will be inserted into the existing concrete arch to restore the bridge's full load carrying capacity. The liner will be supported on a pair of new concrete stem walls running along the base of the existing arch. The rehabilitated structure will also provide new concrete headwalls, the full replacement of two existing wingwalls and proposes to re-use two existing wingwalls that will be re-faced with fresh concrete.

Approximately 330 feet of roadway will undergo pavement reconstruction. The finished roadway will feature widened shoulders that meet current highway design standards along with new highway guide rail within the limits of the project.
